A trio of 3A KingCo football teams will face off in a Kansas tiebreaker on Oct. 27 at Issaquah High School to determine who will claim the top three spots in the KingCo Crest division. Mercer Island, Liberty, and Inglemoor are all tied at 5-1 in league play following the Patriots' 10-3 loss on the road to Inglemoor on Oct. 24. The tiebreaker format is a modified almost tournament, where two teams will play each other first. The loser of the first game will play the third team in the same format following a 20-minute intermission. The loser of that game is out, and the winner advances to the postseason. Mercer Island was the No. 3 draw, so they host Liberty, who was No. 6. That game will be played at 7:00 p.m. in the first tie breaking game. Whoever wins that game will play Bellevue in the Week 9 KingCo championship against Bellevue and secures their spot in the playoffs.

A crowd of people gathered around a football field under a dark sky with bright lights shining on the players, who are wearing helmets and jerseys with the names Mercer Island, Liberty, and Inglemoor on them. The field is illuminated by the lights, and the atmosphere is electric with anticipation and excitement.
