David Jackson, 57, and Blanca Jackson, 58, were booked into the Whatcom County Jail on October 25. Both residents of Nooksack face charges of first-degree robbery, second-degree assault, and theft of a motor vehicle. The arrests followed an investigation into a violent incident that occurred earlier that month.
The incident began on October 22 when the victim met a man at a retail store on Meridian Street to inspect a vehicle for sale. During the test drive, the man stopped the car and ordered the victim out. He struck the victim in the head repeatedly. A second suspect, a woman, arrived in a separate vehicle and began hitting and kicking the victim. The victim stated that one of the suspects placed hands around their throat, restricting their airway. The man then drove off in the victim’s car, while the woman departed in her own vehicle.
Deputies responded to the 4900 block of Aldrich Road for a report of the theft and assault. The investigation identified the Jacksons as the primary suspects. Law enforcement located a vehicle matching the description of the one leaving the scene parked in the Jacksons’ driveway. This evidence provided probable cause for the arrests.
The couple was taken into custody without incident. The case highlights the risks associated with private vehicle transactions where parties meet in person to complete sales.
