Fourteen people died and 14 more were injured after Russian forces struck a railway station in Dnipro on October 29. The attack used a jet-powered drone that hit the platform where a Dnipro-Zaporizhzhia train was stopped. Survivors and medical staff described the scene as one of severe fragmentation injuries.

Serhii, the chief executive of one of the city's hospitals, said seven of the injured were admitted to his facility. Six of those patients are in serious condition. He noted that some individuals had dozens of shrapnel entry wounds. Two patients are currently in critical condition. Intensive care doctors are working to raise their blood pressure to prepare them for surgery. The hospital director explained that the injuries include extensive fractures and torn tissue.

Another three people were transported to a different medical facility in the city. This group includes two women, aged 56 and 39, and a 19-year-old man. A doctor named Tetiana reported that these patients suffered substantial blood loss, shrapnel wounds, and traumatic shock. They underwent immediate surgery and are now stable in the intensive care unit. Tetiana said none of the injured in her facility are in life-threatening condition and that all are expected to recover. The patients are receiving psychological support to manage their shock.

Oleksandr Hanzha, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Military Administration, provided specific details on the victims. He confirmed that an 11-year-old boy was among those injured. A 40-year-old man sustained injuries severe enough to require the amputation of both his legs. The hospital director shared a specific account of one woman's survival. She was holding her phone when a piece of debris hit her head. The object smashed the phone and lodged inside it, saving her life, while other pieces embedded in her lower abdomen and back.

Ukrainian Railways stated that an air-raid warning was issued before the strike. An evacuation announcement was made on the electric train bound for Zaporizhzhia ten minutes before the impact. The assistant driver checked every carriage, and the train's crew evacuated beforehand. Announcements were also made at the station. Despite these warnings, many people remained near the train when the drone hit. The railway company is conducting a second-by-second investigation into the event.

The injured are of various ages. The medical teams are treating the patients for a mix of internal and external trauma. The two critical cases at the first hospital remain the primary focus of the surgical teams. The other three patients at the second facility are stable and recovering from their procedures. The physical damage to the platform and the nearby train is being assessed as part of the ongoing inquiry.
