Araceli Ordaz, known professionally as Gomita, disclosed on social media that thieves stole both side mirrors from her SUV while it was parked in a paid lot in Mexico City. The incident occurred on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, as the influencer documented the damage in a video posted to TikTok.
Ordaz stated that she had paid for parking at a meter before leaving her vehicle. Upon returning to the street, she observed from a distance that the mirrors had been removed. She noted that the payment for the parking space did not prevent the crime. "I just got robbed, people.. be careful when you are in the city, this can happen to you," Ordaz said in the video.
The SUV was parked directly next to the vehicle of her brother, Angel Ordaz Campos, who performs as Lapizin. While the thieves took the mirrors from Ordaz's car, they left her brother's vehicle intact. Ordaz emphasized that she was physically unharmed and described her emotional state as happy because the theft was limited to specific parts of the car.
After the incident, Ordaz recorded herself driving and expressed sadness over the event. She described such thefts as normalized in the daily lives of many Mexican residents. She said she was unsure of the next steps to take following the discovery. Commenters on the post advised her to file a claim with her auto insurance provider.
Ordaz uses the incident to illustrate the frequency of street crimes in the capital. She highlighted that even public figures who pay for parking services remain vulnerable to targeted vehicle thefts. The video serves as a direct account of the damage and the immediate financial impact of the missing components.
