Southern California News Group reporters will cover more than 30 high school football games tonight, with several league championships on the line across the region.

High school football analyst Michael Huntley has issued his predictions for six marquee matchups. In the Alpha League title game, San Juan Hills faces Mission Viejo after a shutout of San Clemente last week. Huntley picks Mission Viejo, citing San Jose State-committed receiver Jack Junker, who has rushed for 424 yards with seven touchdowns over Mission Viejo's first three league games.

Huntley forecasts Sierra Canyon to stop Bishop Amat in the Mission League. Bishop Amat has rushed for 648 yards in its last two Mission League games, while Sierra Canyon's defense has allowed six points in league play. In the Moore League, Huntley picks Millikan to defeat Wilson; a Millikan win would clinch second place, while a Wilson victory would create a three-way tie with Lakewood and Millikan. Jemel Grigsby leads Wilson in rushing and interceptions, and Millikan recorded five interceptions against Long Beach Poly last week.

For the Epsilon League championship, Huntley selects Newport Harbor over Trabuco Hills. Both teams are undefeated in league play. Newport Harbor has thrown for 1,051 yards in league games and averaged 46 points per game, while Trabuco Hills quarterback Jackson Verplancke has 11 touchdown passes and no interceptions in league play. Huntley also picks Hillcrest over Valley View in the Sunbelt League, where a Valley View win would give both teams a share of the title. Hillcrest's Reyez Ortiz averages 182 rushing yards per game with 22 touchdowns; Valley View's Bobby Greer averages 144 with 18. In the Redondo Union versus Mira Costa matchup, Huntley picks Mira Costa, noting it may be a win-or-go-home situation for the team. Redondo Union's Rocky Martinez averages 125 rushing yards per game with 10 touchdowns, while Mira Costa's Wyatt Nucci throws for 203 yards per game and has five rushing touchdowns.

Huntley's list of players to watch includes Jordan Spigarelli, Newport Harbor's quarterback, who has thrown 14 touchdowns with zero interceptions across four Epsilon League games. Trabuco Hills has six interceptions in its last three games. Trevor Vaivao of Ocean View leads Orange County with 1,359 rushing yards, 15.27 yards per carry and 16 touchdowns. Josiah Poyer, a USC commit, had 11 tackles last week for St. John Bosco ahead of a matchup with Mater Dei, which ran for 339 yards last week.

Other players Huntley identified include Dominguez running back Darrell Frazier, who ran for a career-high 291 yards last season against this week's opponent Centennial of Compton. Bishop Amat left tackle Jesus Hernandez faces a Sierra Canyon defense with 22 sacks this season. La Serna linebacker Xavier Nunez leads his team in tackles ahead of a game against Downey's dual-threat quarterback, who has rushed for 44 yards per game with four touchdowns. Agoura quarterback Kris Carranza has 13 touchdown passes and one interception in Coastal 101 League play.
