Apple released iOS 27.2 on Monday, the software release that adds Apple Pencil support to the iPhone Duo, its first foldable handset. The company had previously said the feature would reach the device later this year. The update also ships an Edge Light function intended to illuminate a caller's face during video calls.
The iPhone Duo pairs a 7.6-inch inner display with a 5.4-inch outer screen, and iOS 27 controls are built to move across both. Netflix, Prime Video, and Microsoft Outlook already adapt to the additional display area; other apps do not. iOS 27.2 also enables dual-camera use in group FaceTime calls, showing both the selfie camera and the rear cameras at once.
Siri AI can now take suggested actions inside Messages, and its language coverage expands to French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish. Apple is also rolling out Google's SynthID AI watermark support in Photos and Image Playground, 9to5Mac reported.
Smaller changes land across Apple's media apps. The Apple TV app on iPhone gains user profiles. Apple Podcasts swaps its Up Next queue for a New Episodes list, with a Continue Playing section beneath it, and Apple Music carries a new logo.
Apple shipped macOS 27.2 Golden Gate, watchOS 27.2, visionOS 27.2, tvOS 27.2, and HomePod 27.2 alongside the iPhone software.
Group FaceTime calls now support dual capture, showing what the selfie camera sees alongside the view from the device's rear cameras.
